Apprentice drive starts

Derbyshire County Council has announced one of its biggest ever apprenticeship drives – aiming to get at least 700 young people into work.

There are currently over 5,000 under 25s out of work across Derbyshire, a rate of more than six per cent which is higher than the national average.

The authority is also offering training grants for small- and medium-sized companies in Derbyshire to take on school leavers as apprentices.
