Business bosses in Ilkeston are being invited to an event offering grants of £2,500 to help them take on apprentices.
Businesses employing less than 50 employees can apply for an Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (AGE) provided by Derbyshire County Council as part of a drive to create 700 positions over the next four years.
The young person must be aged 16 or 17 and not in education, employment or training.
Cllr Kevin Parkinson, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “Small businesses play a vital role in the Derbyshire economy and we’re committed to supporting them to help communities thrive.”
Anyone interested in joining up to the scheme can find out more by going to the Arena Church in Rutland Street, on Thursday February 2, any time between 9am and 11am.
