A FORMER Cotmanhay pub is set to re-open today (Thursday) as a convenience store, following setbacks including an attack by arsonists last year.
The new One Stop in Charlotte Street will provide everyday essentials like bread, milk, fruit and vegetables, beer and a wine and snacks.
Customers can also use an in-store cash machine, top up at its PayPoint and buy lottery tickets, newspapers and magazines at the shop on the site of the Live and Let Live pub.
Store manager Robert Gaunt said: “We’re all very excited about welcoming customers here.”
During building work in September last year, arsonists broke in to the building and set fire to a digger in the doorway, causing considerable damage and setting the project back a number of weeks.
The new store, which is owned by Tesco, will open from 6am to 11pm every day.
