A NEW craft shop allowing customers to get involved has opened its doors in Ilkeston.

Avago Crafts has been opened by husband and wife team Lyn and Ann Levett and their friend Janice Parr.

They held a launch event on Saturday.

Ann said: “We’ll be selling craft supplies, running craft workshops and parties and offering local people the chance to sell their arts and crafts from the shop.

“We hope that there will be something everyone can enjoy about the centre, there’s something for everyone to try out.

“We can’t wait to welcome customers whether they’re here to look, take part in crafts or just to see what we’re all about.”

The trio suffered a setback when the premises flooded in November.

They had to remove 1,000 gallons of water from the shop in the basement of the Ilkeston Gym, Critchley Court, Wood Street, before they could start work on the revamp.
