A security firm that has been prominent in Ilkeston for a number of years is on the up.

D&D Security (Midlands) has recently been awarded approved contractor status by the S.I.A (Security Industry Authority). The company has grown so much that it had to move to bigger premises in Bulwell. Prior to that it did security work in Ilkeston for 12 years, and also has a big involvement with the Erewash Partnership.

Mark Lynch, sales and operations manager, said: “We have grown from a small business. The accreditation by the SIA is the biggest thing a security firm can get.

“We do all sorts of security including corporate, static guards and door security. We also have a mobile patrol that visits different premises, and act as a alarm response company.”

The company is always looking for future opportunities and have some big plans in the pipeline in terms of securing sites.

Mark added: “We have gone from 10 to 25 members of staff. Every security guard has to be licenced by the SIA in their relevant field.

“We were originally based on Furness Road but we got bigger so had to move but are predominantly active in Ilkeston.

“We employ only SIA licensed people. Therefore you have total peace of mind that all employees are government cleared and accepted. Our hourly rates are competitive and we truly believe our services are second to none.”

Clients include transport companies, manufacturing companies, composite companies, telecoms, property developers and engineering companies.
