BUSINESSES in Ilkeston have an extra month to be recognised as Trusted Traders free of charge.
Derbyshire County Council is extending the free offer to join the scheme, which was due to end last year, until January 31.
It would usually set a reputable firm back £54 and involves a set of rigorous checks, including records of county court judgements.
More than 1,100 county businesses have earned the Trusted Trader title, making it the biggest scheme of its kind, run by a council, in the UK.
Already signed up are builders, plumbers, roofers, glazers, electricians and more.
Cabinet member for regeneration Cllr Kevin Parkinson said: “We didn’t want any businesses to miss out.”
