Businesses flock to showcase event

There was a record number of exhibitors at a major summer networking event which was organised by the enterprise agency, Erewash Partnership.

A total of 46 exhibitors, ranging from small start-up businesses to those which export across the globe, showed off their expertise and goods at the event which was held at Lakeside Hall at Kirk Hallam Community Technology and Sports College.

The event also showcased manufacturing and engineering.

Around 200 people attended, including Peter Richardson, chairman of the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership, which had earlier revealed its strategy for growth to support an extra 55,000 jobs over the next ten years.

Peter said: “I was delighted to attend the partnership’s event, talk to exhibitors and delegates and see some examples of the areas businesses and entrepreneurial talents.”

Partnership chief executive Ian Viles, said: “We have received excellent feedback from exhibitors and delegates and were also pleased to see last year’s record of 45 exhibitors beaten.”

There was positive feedback following the exhibition from those that attended.

Jun Cheung, from Unknown Creatives, tweeted: “Had a great time at the Erewash Partnership summer networking event. Met loads of great businesses.”

Erewash Partnership Ltd is a non-profit organisation dedicated to encouraging industrial and commercial activity, the formation and development of small businesses and promoting economic and social well being. More than 400 businesses are signed up.
