By-election after councillor death

A DATE has been fixed for a county council by-election following the death of Sawley councillor Bill Camm.

Mr Camm was county councillor for the Sawley division of Derbyshire County Council, when he died.

Residents living in the Sawley county division will go to the polls on Thursday July 7 to elect a county councillor for the ward.

The deadline for the nomination of candidates is Friday, when the official list of candidates standing will be announced.

Anyone needing to be included on the Register of Electors or wanting to apply for a postal vote must get in touch with Erewash Borough Council’s elections team before Wednesday June 22.

Mr Camm died on April 28 following a long illness.
