The organisers of this year’s Stapleford Carnival have hailed it ‘bigger and better’ than previous years.
Hundreds of visitors watched the parade of floats, classic cars and buses through the town to the recreatio ground in Ilkeston Road on Saturday.
Katharine Stewart from Hemlockstone Lions said: “It went very well.
“We always want it to be bigger and better than the last year and I’m sure it was.
“Many people have told me they thoroughly enjoyed the day.”
Town Mayor Cllr Amanda Hull officially opened the charitable festivities with Broxtowe Mayor Cllr Margaret Handley and Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry.
There was also a tug of war involving village sea cadets and air cadets, plenty of chjrity and commercial stalls and classic vehicles to admire.
