A CHARITY which offers transport to borough residents who cannot access buses has received a welcome boost from a county councillor.

Ilkeston-based Erewash Community Transport received a donation of £400 from West Hallam county councillor Carol Hart this week, which will go towards replacing outdated computers.

Personnel manager Jackie Hrynczyszyn said: “Because we rely on computerised systems to manage and provide services, it is essential that we have effective operating hardware and back up facilities.

“On behalf of the scheme’s trustees I express sincere thanks for Cllr Hart’s continued generosity toward our scheme.”

Cllr Hart, who is Derbyshire County Council’s member for communities, took the cash from her community capital fund.

Erewash Community Transport, which is now in its 27th year, is run by a team of just four – Jackie, Tina Reynolds, India Meakin and lead driver Neil Lomax.
