A PUB fun day has raised £445 for a Derbyshire charity, with help from some young volunteers.

The T-Time Club, run by Cotmanhay Children’s Centre, organised the event at the Cat and Fiddle in Kirk Hallam on Saturday, aiming to raise cash for the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre which sends disadvantaged youngsters on holiday to Skegness.

There were stalls at the event for face painting, karaoke, raffles, tombolas and a bouncy castle.

Carl Morley, who runs the club with Debbie Brammer, Josie Hare and Joan Flint, said: “It was a very successful day. There was a really nice community atmosphere.”

The club is for young people who struggle to socially interact with others and is aimed at building confidence. Some club members helped out on Saturday.

The group chose the holiday centre to donate to because they have used it for members in the past.
