An Ilkeston church has started fundraising to create a new disabled access.

Cllr Michelle Booth presented £200 from her community leadership fund at the United Reformed Church bazaar recently to kickstart the fundraising.

Church secretary Dr Roger Allen said: “A project which looked like taking years, simply to get the funds together, now looks as though it will take months.”

A further £615 was raised at the bazaar for the project.
