Friday January 2 was Long Eaton Probus Club’s annual general meeting and time for the induction of the new president for the year ahead. David Brown was inducted with his chain of office. Having concluded the business of the AGM the members were treated to a talk by club member George Swann about the Crovie spies. This was a true story about Jack Moe and Tor Glad who had been recruited by the Germans as spies and landed from a submarine on the Scottish beach at Crovie.
