Co-op not the only building needing attention

Ilkeston co-op closed.
Ilkeston co-op closed.

So, what should happen to Ilkeston Co-op? I suggested in the Advertiser that it should be converted into a hotel and business conference centre, but others have said it should be demolished and redeveloped (we will see).

Another old building in the town is the old Rutland Mill which, in my opinion, is in such a state that there is a young tree sapling growing out of the wall on the Chalons Way side.

Now if both buildings were demolished, who knows what capabilities would be in store for the land (fracking maybe?).
