Conservatives win by-election
Voters took to the polls to choose a new district councillor for Coal Aston in a by-election.
John Allsop, for the Conservatives, won yesterday’s contest with 518 votes.
He will now represent the ward on North East Derbyshire District Council.
David Cheetham, for Labour, clinched 409 votes and Charles Watson, for UKIP, got 193 votes.
