Council to charge for pre-planning advice

new charges have been introduced by Broxtowe Borough Council for its discretionary pre-application advice service which will be introduced across the borough from Friday April 1.

The new charges will range from £35 to a maximum of £1,500 which, unlike regular planning application fees, will be subject to VAT.

Portfolio holder for planning, business and community engagement, Cllr Ken Rigby, said: “Broxtowe Borough Council is under exceptional financial pressure which meant the decision was taken to introduce charges for the discretionary pre-application advice service from this month.”
