Cotmanhay families experiencing difficulties are set to benefit from a new family counselling service.

The free service is available at Cotmanhay Children’s Centre, Beauvale Drive and is being run by Relate - the country’s largest provider of relationship support.

It offers confidential support for anyone who would like to improve communication within their family. People can attend alone or with other members of their family and they can decide on the pattern of sessions with their counsellor.

Rakesh Marwaha, from NHS Erewash Clinical Commissioning Group, which is piloting the service, said: “Every family has its problems and sometimes these do not just ‘blow over’. Big changes – such as those brought about by separation, divorce, new relationships or bereavement – can cause stress for everyone.”

For appointments contact Relate on 01332 349177.
