Breast Cancer Care is encouraging people in Derbyshire to join the charity for one day to take a step forward for women with breast cancer.

On Saturday, June 4, the Pink Ribbonwalk will take place on the Chatsworth Estate.

Walkers are invited to take on a five, ten or 20 mile Pink Ribbonwalk to help Breast Cancer Care be there for thousands of women affected by breast cancer. The walk will take in the stunning grounds of the estate and pass through Stand Wood as well as the iconic bridge in front of Chatsworth.

This year, more than 6,001 people living in Derbyshire will receive the devastating news that they have breast cancer, but with your help the charity can continue to offer them vital care, support and information, every day, from day one.

Emma Claridge, Pink Ribbonwalk manager for Breast Cancer Care, said: “We’re really excited to return to Chatsworth for a Pink Ribbonwalk this June. We can’t wait to catch up with some familiar faces and welcome the new walkers joining us this year; it will be so much more than just a day out.

“On the day you’ll be cheered along the way, get to add your personal message to the ribbon tunnel and receive a goody bag and a tasty hot meal at the finish. You will also be given a medal and t-shirt as a souvenir of the walk. And best of all, you will make a real difference for everyone affected by breast cancer.”

Every year nearly 58,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK. Breast Cancer Care is the only UK-wide support charity helping the thousands of people who wake up to the harsh reality of breast cancer every day. All funds raised from the Pink Ribbonwalks enable Breast Cancer Care to provide specialist nurses, local face to face services and a vital online support network to anyone affected by breast cancer.

The shorter route is open to families, children over the age of eight will be able to take part and the age limit for the ten and 20 mile routes is 14, so it’s a day out the whole family can enjoy together.

The Pink Ribbonwalk registration fee is £30 and walkers will receive an event pack full of tips and advice. Visit for more information.
