A family business is being reinvented as two cousins take over from their mums at thecafe and restaurant at Armstrong’s Mill.
Claire Flood and Jane Cosar are setting up a new bistro in place of the old restaurant and cafe run by their mums, sisters Sheila Flood and Maureen Smith.
Sheila said: “We’re both pretty much retiring now and we’re excited to be handing over the business to the girls”
JC Bistro will be on the top floor of the department store on Station Road and will serve food and hot drinks as well as taking take away orders via the phone and email.
It will be officially opened on October 1 at 10am by the mill’s owner, Kieron Armstrong.
Claire said: “We’ve got some great ideas for this place and this is just the beginning, we want to expand and open up franchises.
“we’re really excited to get going because we think we offer something different to the town.”
