ALL things furry, slithery and scaly could be handled at a wild day in Erewash Museum this week.

Free wildlife workshops on Tuesday at the High Street museum saw children get hands on with tarantulas, snakes, tortoises and other creepy crawlies.

The Birds, Bugs and Butterflies theme continues until Friday.

Helen Martinez from the museum said: “It’s been really busy all week.

“The kids have had lots of fun learning about different animals and have been given the chance to hold them.”

All next week there will be a toy theme, including a teddy bears’ picnic in the museum grounds on Friday and lots of fun arts and crafts sessions for kids of all ages.
