A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged ram raid at an Ilkeston convenience store.
A stolen Ford Mondeo was reversed into the Londis store, known as Checkley’s, in Little Hallam Lane at about 9.10pm on Friday October 25 while the owner was behind the counter.
Two masked men burst in and stole an empty cash box before fleeing on foot with a third man who had been waiting in the car.
A 35-year-old man from Ilkeston was arrested by Nottinghamshire police officers on November 1 on suspicion of the Ilkeston raid and two other robberies – one at a Spar store in Sandiacre on October 11 and one at the Brobot petrol station in Breaston on October 23.
During the Sandiacre raid, two men burst into the shop as a staff member was emptying the in-store cash machine at around 9.50pm.
Both men had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing.
They grabbed cash that the staff member had dropped before speeding off in a car that was parked on Spencer Avenue.
The suspect has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
