THIEVES made off with a car and gadgets when they broke into an Ilkeston home.

At some time between 10pm on Sunday July 10 and 6am on Monday July 11, a back window was smashed at the house on Cromwell Avenue.

Thieves searched the house and an iPhone, two laptops, iPod, widescreen TV, blu-ray player and Nintendo Wii were all taken.

They also helped themselves to car keys that were downstairs in the property and drove off in a blue Peugeot 406.

A police spokesman said: “We are still waiting for information on the whereabouts of the car and the other items that were stolen and would appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.”
