Car seized after driving warning

A DRIVER has had his car seized after ignoring warnings from police.

The 20-year-old from Ilkeston was first stopped by officers on Monday March 7 for dangerous, careless and inconsiderate driving

He was issued with a Section 59 warning which gives police the power to seize the vehicle if it is stopped again for a similar offence within a given time period.

On Wednesday, November 30, officers witnessed the same Ford Fiesta being driven dangerously along Rutland Street and seized his vehicle.

Pc Andrew Edwards, from Cotmanhay and Shipley View Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We would like to remind drivers of this piece of legislation and that if they are seen to be driving in a dangerous manner we will take action and their vehicle may be taken from them.”

To report crime contact Derbyshire police on the non-emergency number 101.
