Derbyshire County Council has awarded grants of just over £800,000 to help support disabled children and young people to get out and share leisure and outdoor experiences.
A total of 14 projects have been chosen to improve leisure, sports and play facilities to help disabled children including £35,000 for sensory lights at Victoria Park Leisure Centre.
The light and sound system in the teaching pool will benefit children with autism or severe communication difficulties.
The soothing nature of the lights and sounds can be calming and help make them more communicative and responsive.
Access will be improved at West Park in Long Eaton after a grant of £50,000.
