Charges after shoplifting crash

TWO women have been in charged in connection with an incident in which a pair of alleged shoplifters collided with an Asda worker as they fled the scene in a car waiting outside.

The incident happened at the store in Midland Road, Long Eaton, on Tuesday November 29 when the worker tried to stop two women from leaving the store because she believed they had taken items of clothing.

The women got into a car outside and drove off, colliding with the worker.

She was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment to her wrist.

Stevie Cobden, 22, of Tamworth, and Jo-Anne Harrison, 40, of Newhall, will appear at Derby Magistrates’ Court on March 9 both charged with shoplifting and acquiring stolen property.

Harrison also faces a count of dangerous driving.
