Chesterfield college students get insight into policing priorities
Officers from the Dunston, Moor and St Helen’s and Newbold and Brockwell Safer Neighbourhood policing teams spent two mornings with the students, who are on a specially designed course on uniformed public service workers.
The team spoke to them about their role and own personal experiences, and went through the recruitment processes for both police officers and PCSOs.

Hide AdPCSO Becky King ran the sessions, which took place on Wednesday, March 5 and Thursday, March 7.
She said: “Many of the students want to join the police so I gave them an insight into the work we do, different roles and I talked about my own experiences. It was also great opportunity for us to meet some of the students and discuss their own thoughts on policing.
“We were able to give them the opportunity to ask questions and we hope it will help them decide on whether a career in the police service would be suitable for them.”
