Crackdown on graffiti

POLICE are urging shopkeepers not to sell spray paint to youngsters in a crackdown on graffiti.

Operation Quigley, which runs across Erewash, Derby and South Derbyshire, is in response to incidents including one in Oakleys Road, Long Eaton, when a garden wall was vandalised on October 5.

Acting Sgt Richard Jones, said: “We are asking people to call us if they see anyone spraying graffiti, or if they have any information as to who is responsible for vandalism in their neighbourhood.”

Operation Quigley runs until November 21.
