Fresh appeal over sex attack

POLICE have launched a fresh appeal pleading with witnesses to the serious sexual assault of a 12-year-old Ilkeston girl to come forward.

Detectives investigating the attack which happened at around 10.30pm on Wednesday October 26 are keen to speak to a young white man aged approximately 15 who they believe chased off the girl’s attackers after disturbing them.

The 18-year-old from Hucknall was held for 24 hours and has now been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

n Police are still keen to trace a black male described as muscular aged about 19 and over 6ft tall who was wearing a bandana. Anyone with information should ring the police on 0300 3009999 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
