AN ILKESTON man has been jailed for three years after police found more than 30 cannabis plants growing in a Somercotes house.

Geoffrey Swan, 44, of Turnberry Close, and Ravinder Dhaliwal, 48, of Somercotes, were inside the house in Nottingham Road when it was raided by police in January last year.

Their fingerprints were later discovered on equipment used to grow the plants.

Both men pleaded guilty to conspiracy to produce cannabis and supplying cannabis.

Swan was jailed for three years while Dhaliwal was given a 27-month sentence at a hearing at Derby Crown Court on Friday July 22.
