Ilkeston man handed lifetime animal ban

AN ILKESTON man has been banned for life from keeping animals after admitting seven charges of causing unnecessary suffering to cats and dogs and failing to meet their welfare needs.

Luke Yeo, 24, of Boweswell Road, was sentenced today after pleading guilty to the seven charges last month at Derby Magistrates’ Court.

As well as the ban he was handed a two-month sentence, suspended for 12 months, and will be monitored by an electronic tag to ensure he obeys a curfew preventing him from going out between 7pm and 7am.
