THE MAN previously convicted of the murder of Ilkeston man Anthony Collins in 2008 has walked free from court.
During 24-year-old Josh Clarke’s retrial, the jury failed to reach a verdict, leaving him to be sentenced on the lesser charge of manslaughter.
High court judge Mr Justice Flaux sentenced Clarke to nine years at Nottingham Crown Court today (Monday).
His sentence was reduced by 25 per cent because of his early guilty plea to manslaughter.
Having already served just over three years in jail – half of his new sentence – he has now been released on licence.
