Man attacked in garden

A HOMEOWNER was left with a split lip when he confronted a man in his garden after hearing a noise.

The 21-year-old victim went into the back garden of his home on Lime Street, Ilkeston, after hearing a bang at around 10.30pm on Friday night.

When he got out there a man hit him in the face and then made off down an alleyway between nearby houses.

The victim chased after his attacker and saw a white man of a medium build and in his early 20s get into a silver Vauxhall Corsa.

Police are unsure if this was the attacker or a witness.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information about the incident can call investigating officers on Derbyshire police’s new non-emergency number, 101.
