OAP robbed on doorstep

A pensioner was left ‘shaken’ after a robber snatched her handbag from her in her hallway as she arrived home, police have said.

The 82-year-old woman entered her house in The Triangle, Ilkeston, at about 11.15pm on Saturday, leaving her front door open while she turned off the property’s burglar alarm.

As she turned to close the door a man pushed her backwards causing her to fall on to her sofa.

The robber then pulled her handbag, containing cash, from her hands and ran out of the house.

The pensioner, who was not thought to have been hurt in the incident was unable to tell police which way the robber had run.

A police spokesman said she was left ‘shaken’ by the robbery.

She was also unable to give police a good description of the offender.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about what happened to get in touch.

Call the force on 101.
