THE DRIVER of this car was fined £277 after an officer spotted him reversing off a drive with only a tiny patch of glass free from ice to see out of.
The driver had no lights on as he backed on to a main road.
The incident happened at 5am in Ilkeston last December but p are using it as an example to warn drivers about the risks of not clearing windscreens properly at this time of year.
Sgt Kev Langton, of Derbyshire police, who dealt with the driver, said: “Clearly this was very dangerous. Not only was the driver putting himself at risk he was also a danger to other road users.
“It is really important to clear all vehicle windows completely before you set off on your journey.
“It may take several minutes but it is worth it to ensure road safety.”
