RAPE TRIAL: Jury sent out

The jury in a rape trial have been sent home this afternoon (Tuesday) and will continue deliberating tomorrow.

Dean Robertson, 19, denies raping a 24-year-old woman in the Rutland Recreation Ground, Ilkeston, in the early hours of Sunday October 30, 2011.

The mother-of-one from Cotmanhay alleged the attack happened after she got off a bus in Ilkeston town centre after a night out in Derby.

She said she was led into the park by two men, who said they would help her get home.

Robertson of Tobermory Way, Sinfin, said that the woman had willingly performed a sex act on him when he approached her while she was having sex with two other men.
