Reveller attacked in street
A TOWN centre reveller was assaulted in the street in the early hours of Friday, police have said.
The 32-year-old man from Ilkeston was attacked in South Street at about 1am after leaving The Charter pub.
A man approached him as he walked up the street and punched him in the head.
He was knocked to the ground by the blow, at which point the attacker continued the attack by kicking him.
After the assault, the victim went home, travelling to hospital the following morning.
Doctors told him he may have fractured his eye socket and his cheekbones and had suffered bruising to his head and face.
