Soldier’s sentencing

A FORMER soldier from Ilkeston, who has admitted playing a role in the theft of night-vision binoculars from barracks will be sentenced on Monday.

Thomas Biddlestone, 25, was meant to be sentenced at Derby Crown Court last week, but the date has been put back.

He admitted three offences of handling stolen goods and 10 counts of money laundering on October 6.

He was charged by MoD police in May for his role in the theft of a £45,000 set of war-zone night sights from Combermere Barracks, in Windsor between February 1 and 28.
