Speeding is main concern

THE ROADS through Watnall were the biggest concern for villagers, following a police street briefing this week.

PCSO Lara Holbrook met residents on Monday night at the junction of Rolleston Crescent and Lancelot Drive to hear their concerns about policing in the village.

Speeding was the main issue raised but also people were worried about the large number and speed of lorries using Main Road for access and egress to the Fernwood fuel depot.

She said speeding was already a local priority and action was being taken by the police and county council to address the issue.

She added: “It was a cold miserable evening with freezing fog, and to those who made the effort thanks again.”
