A teenager has been charged with driving offences after allegedly failing to stop for police, who say they followed him for 15 miles.
A man was spotted by an officer in a patrol car in Bath Street, Ilkeston, driving with no lights on at about 5.30pm on Sunday (October 27).
When the car failed to pull over the officer followed the vehicle as it travelled to Smalley crossroads.
The car then headed left towards Derby, turning around in Locko Road, Spondon.
It then headed back towards Lime Lane, Morley, before coming to a stop in Morley Lane, Stanley Common.
A 19-year-old, of Woodville, Swadlincote, was arrested on the scene.
He was held in custody over night and charged on Monday with driving with just a provisional licence, driving with no insurance and failing to stop for police.
He was also arrested on suspicion of a house burglary in Balmoral Close, Sandiacre, and an attempted non-dwelling burglary in Buckingham Close, Sandiacre.
He has been bailed pending further enquiries into both alleged offences.
