A TEENAGER has been charged with the rape of a woman in an Ilkeston park.
At around 1.30am on Sunday, October 30, a 24-year-old woman was walking in Wharncliffe Road after a night out when she was approached by a man who offered to help her get home.
She walked with him and they entered Rutland Recreation ground, in West End Drive, where they were joined by another man.
It’s alleged that the two men sexually assaulted her and took items from her handbag before leaving her in the park.
Dean Robertson, 18, of Tobermory Way, SInfin, was arrested in connection with the matter and has now been charged with rape.
He appeared before magistrates in Derby on Monday. Detectives are continuing inquiries to identify the second man.
