A 17-year-old was stabbed in the leg outside a New Year’s Eve party, police have said.

The party in Ridgeway Drive, Kirk Hallam, was advertised on Facebook and received a number of unwanted guests.

Police were called at around 9.15pm to get rid of the gatecrashers but received another call from a party-goer after officers had left saying a scuffle had broke out on a nearby street.

When police returned, the teenage boy was found with a puncture wound to his leg in Wyndale Drive.

He was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where he received treatment for the injury which police said was ‘not life-threatening or life-changing’.

A spokesman for the force said the victim was ‘not prepared to make a complaint’ and he said he does not know the identity of his attacker.

No weapon was recovered at the scene.

Police have asked for anyone with information to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
