Police have released enhanced CCTV footage from the night an Ilkeston man was killed in a hit and run four years ago in abid to finally catch his killer.
Paul Davis, 37, was found lying in the road yards from his Corporation Road home in the early hours of Sunday August 11, 2008.
Police say he was involved in a collision but, despite numerous appeals, including on the fourth anniversary of his death this year, the case remains Derbyshire’s only unsolved hit and run fatality.
The new footage, which can be viewed on our website, was from 2.11am the same night and shows a man of large build, wearing a white top walking along Hallam Fields Road.
Enhanced CCTV footage of a car – now believed to be a silver Ford Mondeo 2000 – 2007 model – was also released last month.
Chf Insp Steve Wilson said: “Technology has developed over the last four years and we have been able to enhance these two pieces of footage to give us greater detail than ever before.
“Did you go on a night out and walk along Hallam Fields Road in the early hours? Were you on a night shift at work and were walking back home?”
