A 41-year-old woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed in Long Eaton.

Police were called to a property on Cranmer Street at around 9pm last night (Wednesday October 31).

When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man, who had been stabbed, on the pavement. He was treated at the scene before being taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where he underwent surgery.

His condition is described as stable.

The woman was arrested shortly afterwards in connection with the assault.

She is detained at St Mary’s Wharf police station in Derby and will be questioned later today.

A knife has been recovered.
