Woman hit with crowbar

A woman was hit in the face with a crowbar during a robbery at a house in Long Eaton, police have said.

Two men burst in to a property in Stafford Street at about 8.20pm last Wednesday and demanded money from the 25-year-old woman.

One of the men then hit the woman with the crowbar, cutting her face.

He then stole her mobile phone and a laptop.

The victim’s dog lunged for the man and he ran out of the room. The victim then managed to call police.

She was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, for treatment for the injury.

The armed robber was described as aged around 20 to 25, over 6ft, of slim build with a gaunt face. He was wearing a blue waterproof jacket, dark blue tracksuit bottoms and a black, woolly beanie hat.

The second man was wearing a balaclava and a beanie hat.

Anyone with any information about the incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area should call Long Eaton CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
