‘Would-be car key burglar’ is arrested

POLICE are investigating whether a man arrested after a failed raid on a Sandiacre home is linked to two burglaries the same night.

A would-be burglar was disturbed after he forced a window at the Bostock’s Lane property at about 2am on Tuesday.

The occupant told police he saw the man run off towards Park Drive.

After a search of the area, police found a stolen Ford Focus and two men. One fled the scene but the other, a 25-year-old of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Police are investigating if it is linked to a burglary in Beech Lane, West Hallam in which a Mercedes C250 was stolen between 11.30pm and 5.20am on Monday.

A Volkswagen Golf was stolen from William Street, Long Eaton, after a burglary between 10.30pm and 5am the same night.
