TRAFFIC LIGHTS on a pedestrian crossing near a primary school should be up and running this week after one of the signals was damaged in an accident.
A traffic light pole at the crossing on Nottingham Road near to Kensington Junior School was damaged in a road accident on April 24.
Derbyshire County Council say that repairs are due to be completed this week.
The authority has arranged for a crossing warden to help children on their way to and from school while the lights are out of action.
A council spokesman said: “The delay in getting the crossing back to working order has been because of the two Bank Holidays.
“Our rapid response team was on scene on the day of the accident as was an engineer from Siemens.
“The work on the wiring by Siemens should be finished some time this week.”
