Cubs’ cash from clothes

Have your say

CUBS in Kirk Hallam have managed to raise £440.45 for this year’s summer camp by selling old clothing.

But in the run up to the camp at Brownsea Island, there will be no one at the 21st Scout group’s meeting point at Kirk Hallam Community Hall, as the youngsters will be out and about taking part in summer activities.

Cub Scout leader Diane Harris has asked people wishing to donate to call 0115 932 9979 to arrange collection.

Stapleford, Sandiacre & District Ladies’ Darts League Ilkeston Rotary Club have both donated £200 to funds and Cllr Michelle Booth gave £170 from her community fund to add to the money raised by the clothing campaign, which was launched last year.

Diane said: “We have now only four weeks to our camp and I know we are all really looking forward to the experience.”
