Dan pedals to success for charity

Charity fundraiser Dan Coleman and 50 others from Studio Zone, Derby Road, Heanor, have made £800 for Guide Dogs for the Blind after taking part in a sponsored ‘spinathon event’ where they pedaled the eqivalent of a 13-mile half-marathon on exercise bikes.

Council worker Dan, pictured, 61, of Loscoe Grange, decided he wanted to raise money for charity and has helped other causes including alzheimer’s victims in the past.

He said: “They were sponsored and paid £5 to take part. Lolita Pickering raised £200 and Mark and Donna Hodgkinson raised £100 each. Thanks to everyone who took part.”
