The results are all in from across the county and Labour have taken back control after four years of Tory rule.

There was little change here in Erewash, but across the county Labour made gains at the Conservatives’ expense.

There are now 43 Labour wards, 18 Conservatives and three Liberal Democrats on Derbyshire County Council.

Since 2009, the Conservatives had held a two-seat majority.

UKIP made no gains as they have in other areas of the country.

For an in-depth look at the results see the Ilkeston Advertiser out Thursday May 9.
