The Disley and Newtown Welldressing Festival kicked off on Saturday with the unveiling of 13 displays on the theme of “Lest We Forget”, in commemoration of the centenary of the start of the First World War.

From 12.30pm, there were performances from traditional clog dancers and the Poynton High School Swing Band at the Woodland Garden at St Mary’s Church, on Red Lane.
